Biology—MS
The Master of Science in Biology is an advanced academic degree that will prepare you to pursue a more advanced degree, such as a PhD, work as a research associate in a biology-related field, or teach at the secondary level with a deeper understanding of research and the field of biology.
PROGRAM LENGTH
30 credits, typically completed by full time students in 2 years if summers are devoted to research.
APPLICATION DEADLINES
The Master of Science in Biology admits new students only for Fall semester.
Prospective students must submit their applications by July 15.
POINTS OF DISTINCTION
- Advanced study of biology within a multicultural and Seventh-day Adventist Christian environment.
- Small program with significant faculty student interaction.
- Teaching assistantships ($600/month) available for all accepted students.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- A bachelors degree (or non-U.S equivalent) in biology or a related discipline from an accredited institution and a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (Applicants with lower GPA may be admitted upon consideration of the composite profile).
- Two recommendations from professionals such as advisors, major professors, and employers.
- Resume describing employment, research or special projects.
- GRE General test from exam taken within five years.
- Statement of purpose reflecting your philosophical perspective, personal, professional, and academic goals, and reasons for seeking the graduate program.
- TOEFL, IELTS or PTE (academic): Students whose language of education is not English must submit English proficiency tests scores.
